Our team has hands on real world business experience at either director or senior management level. We believe this experience helps us to provide meaningful advice that will enable our clients to meet their objectives.


Ken Graham MBA BSc Eng MCIM       View Ken Graham's profile on LinkedIn

Ken is a widely experienced international company director. He has enjoyed a lengthy and diverse career in international business and has worked in the UK, the USA, Africa, Europe and Australia. Between 1981-1989, as part of a compact team of six, he helped build a global Group from £50m to £700m revenues in the service industry, where he gained extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions across five continents. He founded Pace in 1989 to provide strategy and M&A advice to developing companies.

James' career developed and grew in the textile industry where he ultimately held the position of Commercial Director at a specialist knitwear manufacturer, having led a Venture Capital backed Management Buy-In. During his career in textiles he gained experience in manufacturing, retail management, consumer goods marketing, distribution strategies and product and brand development. James has wide ranging experience in strategy development, business planning, strategic marketing and financial management across a broad range of companies.

Ulla Skagstedt

Ulla was made a director of the Pace business in 1996. She has enjoyed a varied career ranging from medical to the computer graphics industry. Ulla looks after the finances and personnel functions of the business. She also assists with marketing project work.

Joel, a business graduate, joined Pace in 1998. Previously he worked for a FTSE 250 aerospace business where he gained hands on experience of post acquisition management when a major competitor was acquired. Since joining Pace, Joel has developed an in-depth knowledge of the Mergers & Acquisitions arena in private companies and has advised shareholders and management on a wide range of assignments across a number of sectors.

Barry Neeves

A seasoned Finance Director, Barry began his career at BDO Stoy Hayward before subsequently holding Executive Board appointments heading up Finance, Operations, HR and IT across a variety of sectors. Barry developed a wide experience within SME Companies, helping to build profitability and ultimately realising shareholder value by implementing MIS, and securing funding for expansion. Barry has carried out acquisitions, disposals, mergers, and joint ventures, whilst also raising capital from a wide range of lenders and investors.

Chris Melrose BSc (Hons) FCA FRAeS

Chris joined Pace in 1999, having previously been Managing Director of a General Electric joint venture and a VP of Bombardier Aerospace (Short Bros). He is a qualified engineer and chartered accountant and his career has spanned a comprehensive range of disciplines within industry, including finance, commercial development, strategic planning, international expansion, mergers, acquisitions and international joint ventures. Chris is currently a member of the Review Board for Government Contracts as the CBI representative and has particular expert knowledge of the engineering, defence and aerospace industries.

Harry Midgley F.C.A,

Harry’s early career was as a practicing accountant specialising in taxation and writing on tax and investment for a national daily newspaper. Moving into commerce Harry was CEO of a listed plc in the construction and development sector which was the best performing share on the Stock Exchange in 1988. This was followed by a period as Chairman of a listed fund manager, following which in recent years Harry has specialised in corporate finance with an emphasis on the healthcare sector.

James joined Pace in 2007 as a research analyst in business strategy. The focus of his academic study was on business and marketing culminating in a Masters in marketing. James is responsible for analysis and research for the creation of strategic marketing plans, business strategies and mergers and acquisitions. He is also involved with the development of the marketing activities undertaken by Pace for its extensive client base in the mid-market sector.

Dominic Marlow

Dominic is an experienced advisor on both sales and acquisitions. He is highly adept at creating quality marketing materials and executing bespoke strategic and tactical campaigns, this together with his highly developed presentational skills has enabled Dominic to successfully complete transactions across a broad range of sectors and sizes. Dominic has previous corporate experience working with several of the world’s leading brands including Nescafé and Coca Cola.

Stephen J Line BSc (Econ) FCA

Stephen has held several executive Board appointments heading up the finance, IT and secretarial functions in companies trading in the UK and overseas involved in a wide range of industries. As a consultant he has advised on funding expansion and improving profitability through implementing strategic MIS for many SME’s. Stephen has also advised on new ventures, the development and funding of fast growth companies and corporate M&A. He now focuses on raising private equity funding.

Dr Colin Winsper PhD; BSc(Hons); CEng MI MechE; FBIM

Colin is a widely experienced company Director with first hand knowledge of managing companies in both turnaround and growth situations. He has enjoyed senior management roles in a variety of industries including brewery and soft drinks, metal finishing, general and heavy engineering, water and waste treatment, call centre management, printing and direct mail and home assistance services. From 1994 until 2001 he was employed by the South Staffordshire Group to develop their non regulated business activities. This he achieved through acquisition and organically by growing the Groups non-water activities from start up to represent more than 50% of turnover and profit in six years. Colin has a wide range of experience of buying and selling businesses and in post acquisition integration and management.
